Reclaim Your Authentic Self

Carol Berzonsky, PhD, LMHC

"To heal is to touch with love that which was previously touched by fear.”                                                                            ~ Peter A. Levine

Meet Carol

About Me

      Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m Carol Berzonsky, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Western Massachusetts, with a

PhD in Depth Psychology (primarily Jungian). I'm also a student of Somatic Experiencing®

          at the Advanced I level

I’m here to support you to recover, discover, and reclaim your most authentic self. I believe that within each of us is a natural movement toward healing and wholeness, and sometimes, we just need the right support to identify and clear the obstacles in the way and build capacities in need of development. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and gently move toward the life your inner wisdom already senses is possible — a life of greater alignment, freedom, and meaning.

I believe you'll find me to be very warm and welcoming, down-to-earth, culturally sensitive, non-judgmental, strength-focused, and enthusiastically all in for getting you where you want to be!

I draw from multiple approaches to meet

  you where you are.

  • Traditional, evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), when changing thought patterns can improve self-image, core beliefs, self-talk.

  • When trauma manifests as physical and emotional symptoms, I turn to Somatic Experiencing® —to gently release trauma stored in the body.

  • From Depth Psychology, we invite the unconscious to speak through dreams, symbols, and shadow work.

  • Nature-based models of human development, inspired by the work of Animas Valley Institute and the School of Lost Borders, offer an eco-psychological understanding of our natural maturing process.

  • And always, there is the  wisdom earned through years of walking with others—and myself—through the darkness to a more resourced life.

Beneath all of this is a deeper calling:

To serve what Joanna Macy called the Great Turning—

a collective movement away from a culture of destruction

and disconnection, toward one that nurtures life, justice, and beauty. My work is one small offering to that much-needed great transition.
